A home provider's address, hosted on a server

ISP proxies without the jargon

What an ISP proxy is, in plain words: a home-provider IP that stays fixed and runs on a fast server. You get one through Residential Premium ($6.99/GB).

Pay as you go from $6.99 per GB · nothing to cancel later · 99.9% uptime

In plain English

“ISP” stands for internet service provider: the company that supplies a home broadband line, such as Comcast, BT or Deutsche Telekom. An ISP proxy uses an IP address registered to one of those providers, but instead of sitting in someone’s living room it runs on fast, always-on servers. That’s why you’ll also see it called a static residential proxy: residential because of who the address belongs to, static because it doesn’t change.

There’s no separate “ISP plan” to hunt for in our price list. These addresses come with Residential Premium, charged per GB like everything else. Once you’ve paid, you choose the country in your dashboard and your login details are ready to use.

Up and running in three steps

Setting up a proxy means typing a few details into an app you already use. Here’s the short version.

1

Pick Premium at checkout

ISP addresses come with Residential Premium; there’s no other plan to look for. Buy the amount of data you expect to use.

2

Pick the country after paying

Once you’ve paid, open My Plans in your dashboard and choose which country the address should be in.

3

Connect and keep the address

Copy the host, port and login into your app, or whitelist your own IP. The address stays the same, so you can keep reusing it.

How a website decides whether to trust an address

Every IP address belongs to a network, and each network has its own ID number, called an ASN (autonomous system number). Many websites look the ASN up when someone visits. If it belongs to a home broadband provider, the visit looks like an ordinary household. If it belongs to a hosting company, it looks like a server, and some sites treat server traffic more carefully.

An ISP proxy carries a home provider’s ASN while running on server-grade equipment. So websites tend to treat it like a household visitor, while you get the steadier speed of a server rather than the ups and downs of residential IPs that run over people’s own home connections.

When an ISP proxy is worth the extra cost

Pay the Residential Premium rate when you need one trusted address that stays put: logging in to a few of your own accounts (one address per account, within each platform’s terms), staying signed in for long stretches, checking how your adverts appear, or keeping an eye out for misuse of your brand. If all you’re doing is reading lots of public pages, you don’t need a fixed address at all, and a rotating residential pool will cost you less per GB.

What you need

Decide which country the address should be in before you start, since it's the address you'll keep using. Beyond that you need an app with proxy settings and the login details from your dashboard.

Username & password

The simplest option for most people. Type them into your app and connect from any network: home, work, a café or your phone's data. You can swap them for new ones in the dashboard whenever you need to.

  • ✓ Works on any device or network
  • ✓ Change them in the dashboard whenever you like

IP whitelist

Add your own IP address to an approved list and the proxy lets that address in without a password. Handy for a computer whose address doesn't change, or an app with nowhere to type a proxy password.

  • ✓ No password saved in your app or settings
  • ✓ Edit the approved list at any time

Both login methods work the same whichever protocol you use.

Easy mistakes to avoid

Small slip-ups that waste data or time, and what to do instead.

Looking for a separate ISP product

There isn't one to find. Choose Residential Premium at checkout; that's where ISP addresses come from.

Paying the premium rate to read public pages

Reading lots of public pages doesn't need a fixed address. Rotating residential spreads the work over many IPs and costs less per GB.

Expecting trust to excuse anything

A trusted address helps, but websites still judge what you do with it: how fast you go, how you log in and whether you follow their rules.

What you're paying for

✓ Registered to a home internet provider, so sites see a household
✓ Hosted on servers, so the speed stays steady
✓ One address that doesn't change while your plan runs
✓ Bought as Residential Premium; there's nothing else to find
✓ Country chosen in your dashboard once you've paid
✓ One address per account, as each platform's rules allow

ISP proxies sit in the sweet spot between two worlds: the raw speed of a datacentre and the residential trust of a real broadband connection. They are static IP addresses hosted on datacentre infrastructure but registered to a genuine Internet Service Provider rather than a hosting company. At Budget Proxies you can pair this ISP profile with our pools to get an address that loads pages fast and holds steady for hours.

This page explains exactly what ISP proxies are, when they outperform plain residential or datacentre options, how to set them up with HTTP, HTTPS or SOCKS5, and which proxy type to pair them with for the best value. Everything is pay-as-you-go in dollars per gigabyte with a fixed 30-day validity, no contracts and no logs, so you can test a small volume before scaling up.

What ISP proxies are and how they work

An ISP proxy is a static IP address that lives on fast datacentre hardware but carries the registration details of a consumer Internet Service Provider. When a site inspects the address it sees an Autonomous System Number (ASN) belonging to a broadband or telecoms provider, not a hosting company. That single detail changes how the IP is scored by reputation systems.

The result is a hybrid: you keep the low latency and high throughput of a server connection, plus the reputation that comes with a consumer ISP network. Because the address is static, it does not change on every request the way a rotating residential pool does. You hold the same identity for as long as your session lasts.

At Budget Proxies the ISP profile is delivered over the same gateway as our other pools, so the only thing that changes is the upstream reputation. You still get HTTP, HTTPS and SOCKS5 access, username-password or IP-whitelist auth, and city-level targeting across 55+ countries.

Why ISP proxies suit long-lived sessions

Many tasks fail not because a single request is blocked but because the identity keeps changing mid-task. Logging into an account, browsing a marketplace, or filling a multi-step form all expect the same IP from start to finish. A rotating residential IP that swaps between requests can break that flow and log you out.

ISP proxies are built for exactly this. The address is static, so you can keep one address across an entire workflow without having to sign in again. This makes them a strong fit for managing your own social and e-commerce accounts, and for any tool that stores a session cookie tied to a single IP.

If you genuinely need a fresh IP per request, our rotating proxies are the better tool. If you need stability with residential credibility, the static ISP profile is the one to reach for. You can mix both on a single Budget Proxies account.

Setting up and authenticating your ISP proxy

Getting started takes a few minutes. After you top up your balance, you generate ISP proxy credentials from the dashboard and point your client at our gateway host and port. Two authentication methods are available:

  • Username and password — paste the credentials into any tool that supports proxy auth. Best when your own IP changes, such as on a laptop or in a CI pipeline.
  • IP whitelisting — add your server's outbound IP and connect with no inline credentials. Best for fixed servers and bulk tooling.

Choose your protocol in the connection string: HTTPS for encrypted web traffic or SOCKS5 when you need a lower-level tunnel for non-HTTP applications. To confirm the proxy is live and reporting the expected ISP and location, route a request through our My IP tool before you start real work.

Tools and integrations that work out of the box

Because ISP proxies speak standard HTTP, HTTPS and SOCKS5, they drop into almost any stack without custom code. Common integrations include:

  • Browsers and automation — Chrome, Firefox, Puppeteer, Playwright and Selenium all accept a proxy string directly.
  • Multi-profile browsers — Multilogin, GoLogin and similar tools also accept proxy settings; use separate profiles only where the platform's terms allow more than one account.
  • Scripting libraries — Python requests and httpx, Node axios and got, plus Go and Java HTTP clients.
  • Command-line tools — curl and wget via the standard proxy flags or environment variables.

For a static, sticky setup the configuration is identical to any other proxy: host, port, and either credentials or a whitelisted IP. There are no SDKs to install. If you are building a scraper, see our notes on proxies for scraping for sensible request pacing and polite crawling habits that keep your ISP IPs healthy.

Sticky sessions versus rotation with ISP IPs

ISP proxies are inherently sticky: the same address stays with you, which is the main reason to choose them. That said, you can still introduce controlled rotation by holding a pool of several ISP IPs and cycling between them at the task level rather than the request level.

Use a single sticky IP when one identity must persist: logins, checkout flows, account dashboards and anything cookie-bound. Use a small rotating set of ISP IPs when you run many parallel jobs and want each to keep its own steady identity while spreading load across addresses.

ModeBest for
Single sticky ISP IPAccount management, multi-step flows
Pool of ISP IPsParallel jobs, ad and price checks
Per-request rotationLarge anonymous crawls (use residential instead)

For pure per-request rotation at scale, our residential proxies are usually the more economical choice.

Country and city targeting across 55+ locations

An ISP proxy is only useful if it appears in the right place. Budget Proxies offers targeting across 55+ countries, and within many of them you can narrow down to a specific city. This matters when a service personalises content, pricing or availability by region.

You set the location at the moment you request an IP, so you can hold a London address for one task and a New York address for another without changing tooling. Because ISP addresses are static, the location stays fixed for the life of that IP rather than jumping around between requests.

Typical uses include verifying that a localised storefront shows the correct currency, checking search and ad placements in a target market, and testing geo-gated content from the right vantage point. Browse the full list on our locations page to confirm a country or city is available before you commit volume.

Speed and performance you can rely on

The headline advantage of ISP proxies is speed without sacrificing trust. Because the traffic rides on datacentre-grade hardware and connectivity, you get the low latency and high bandwidth of a server line, not the variable performance of a real home router that might be congested or asleep.

That makes ISP proxies noticeably snappier than typical residential connections for page loads, automation steps and bandwidth-heavy work. Combined with our 99.9% uptime, you can run long sessions and scheduled jobs with confidence that the endpoint will respond.

To get the most from this performance, keep concurrency reasonable per IP, reuse connections where your client allows it, and avoid hammering a single endpoint faster than a human would. Speed is a tool, not a licence to flood a site. Measured, steady traffic keeps your ISP IPs in good standing and your success rates high over the long run.

Trust, reputation and honest limits

Reputation systems score IP addresses partly by the network they sit on. A plain datacentre range is easy to identify and is frequently rate-limited or challenged. An ISP-registered address carries the profile of a consumer broadband line, so some sites treat it more like everyday home traffic.

This is a meaningful advantage, but it is not magic. The IP is one signal among many. A proxy does not change a site's rules or the other checks it runs, so automation a site does not allow can still be stopped.

To keep your IPs in good standing, pace requests sensibly, identify your client honestly and stay within each site's terms. We keep no logs of your destination traffic, so your activity stays private on our side. We never promise that any proxy can guarantee evasion of blocks; we provide credible infrastructure, and good practice does the rest.

Pricing and value, pay as you go

Everything at Budget Proxies is billed in dollars per gigabyte with a fixed 30-day validity and no contracts, so you only pay for what you use. ISP-style performance and trust come from pairing the profile with the pool that fits your task:

PoolPrice (USD/GB)
Datacentre$2.49
Residential$3.98
Mobile$4.98
Residential premium$6.99

Because ISP traffic is fast and lean, you typically move fewer gigabytes for the same number of completed tasks, which keeps your effective cost down. Start with a small top-up to benchmark your workload, then scale once you know your real consumption. See full details on the pricing page, and remember credit is valid for 30 days from purchase.

ISP proxies compared to other proxy types

Choosing the right tool saves money and headaches. Here is how the ISP profile stacks up against the main alternatives:

TypeSpeedTrustBest for
DatacentreHighestLowerCost-sensitive, tolerant targets
ISP (static residential)HighHighStable accounts, fast trusted sessions
ResidentialVariableHighRotating, large-scale gathering
MobileVariableHighestMobile-first apps and sites

Pick datacentre when price is paramount and the target is lenient. Pick ISP when you want speed plus a residential profile that stays put. Choose mobile or residential premium for the most demanding sites where the highest trust is worth the higher rate.

Scaling and best practices

Scaling ISP proxies is about spreading work across enough static identities rather than pushing one address too hard. A handful of IPs handling steady, human-like volume will outperform a single IP under heavy strain.

  • One identity per task — bind a single ISP IP to one workflow, or to one account where the platform allows more than one, and keep it consistent.
  • Limit concurrency per IP — a few parallel connections is plenty; flooding one address invites challenges.
  • Match geography to purpose — keep the location stable for each job so your results stay comparable.
  • Monitor and rest — watch success rates and slow down as soon as a site starts pushing back.

As volume grows, add IPs and locations gradually and benchmark each step against your pay-as-you-go consumption. Because there are no contracts, you can expand or contract freely. If a workload turns out to need per-request rotation, our residential pool will scale it more cheaply than holding hundreds of static IPs.

Common mistakes and troubleshooting

Most ISP proxy problems trace back to configuration rather than the network. Work through these checks before assuming an IP is at fault:

  • Connection refused — confirm the host, port and protocol match the dashboard, and that any whitelisted IP is current.
  • Auth failures — re-copy username and password exactly; a stray space breaks the login.
  • Wrong location reported — verify the geo parameter and re-check with our My IP tool.
  • Sudden challenges — usually a sign you are sending requests too quickly. Slow down, and check that the site's terms allow what you are doing.
  • Balance exhausted — ISP traffic is light, but heavy media can still consume gigabytes; check your usage and 30-day validity.

If a site keeps pushing back, treat it as a signal to slow down or stop rather than something to work around. When you are genuinely stuck, our 24/7 support can confirm whether the issue is on your side or ours and help you get back to a clean connection quickly.

Security, compliance and responsible use

ISP proxies are powerful, so use them responsibly. You are accountable for the traffic you send, and you should always stay within the terms of service of the sites you access and all applicable law. Proxies are a legitimate tool for testing, research, verification and management, not a way to bypass rules that prohibit your activity.

On our side, Budget Proxies keeps no logs of your destination traffic, so your work stays private. We encrypt access over HTTPS and offer SOCKS5 for lower-level tunnelling. Protect your credentials, prefer IP whitelisting on fixed servers, and rotate any key you suspect is exposed.

We never claim that a proxy can guarantee you will avoid bans or detection; anyone promising that is overselling. What we provide is credible, ISP-registered infrastructure with strong uptime and support. Pairing that with honest, policy-compliant use is what keeps both your accounts and your IPs healthy over time.

Real-world workflows with ISP proxies

Here is how teams put the ISP profile to work day to day:

  • Account management — keep one static ISP IP for your own account, or per account where the platform allows several, so sessions persist across visits.
  • Ad verification — load campaigns from a fixed city to confirm creatives, landing pages and placements render correctly for that region.
  • Price and availability monitoring — check localised storefronts at speed without the variability of a home connection.
  • Quality assurance — test geo-gated features and currency handling from the exact market they target.
  • Light, respectful scraping — gather public data with stable identities and human-like pacing; see proxies for scraping.

In each case the recipe is the same: one stable identity, the right location, sensible pacing, and clean headers. The static nature of ISP proxies is what makes these consistent, repeatable workflows possible where a constantly rotating IP would break them.

Key terms explained

ISP proxy
A static IP address hosted on datacentre hardware but registered to a consumer Internet Service Provider, combining server speed with residential trust.
Static IP
An address that stays fixed for the life of the session rather than changing on every request.
ASN
The Autonomous System Number that identifies which network owns an IP range, used by sites to tell ISP traffic from datacentre traffic.
Sticky session
A connection that keeps the same IP for a sustained period so cookies and logins remain valid throughout a task.
SOCKS5
A low-level proxy protocol that tunnels any TCP or UDP traffic, useful beyond plain web requests.
IP whitelisting
An authentication method that grants proxy access to a pre-approved outbound IP without inline username and password.
Geo-targeting
Selecting a specific country or city for your proxy so the destination sees traffic from the intended region.
Uptime
The percentage of time the proxy network is available and responding, quoted here as 99.9%.

More questions

ISP proxies are static and hosted on fast datacentre hardware while carrying an ISP registration, whereas residential proxies route through real home devices and usually rotate. ISP IPs are quicker and more stable; residential is better for large rotating crawls.

Yes. Because the traffic runs over datacentre-grade connectivity rather than a real home router, ISP proxies typically deliver lower latency and higher, more consistent bandwidth.

Yes, they are static by design, so you hold one identity for the life of the IP. This makes them ideal for logins, checkouts and multi-step workflows that must not change address mid-task.

You can connect over HTTP, HTTPS or SOCKS5, and authenticate with either a username and password or by whitelisting your server's IP. Pick whichever suits your tooling and network setup.

Yes. We offer targeting across 55+ countries with city-level options in many of them; check availability on the locations page before you buy volume.

Billing is pay-as-you-go in dollars per gigabyte with a fixed 30-day validity and no contracts. Pricing depends on the pool you pair with, starting at $2.49/GB for datacentre and $3.98/GB for residential; see the pricing page.

No proxy can guarantee that. ISP proxies give you a trusted, stable IP, but how you behave on a site still matters, and you must stay within each site's terms of service and the law.

If a site or app is built for phones and expects mobile-carrier traffic, our mobile proxies are the closer match. For most fast, stable tasks, ISP proxies offer better value.
