Sydney proxies, made simple
Sydney is in New South Wales. Australian sites price in Australian dollars, and the city moves its clocks forward in October for summer.

Harbour plans and New Year's Eve: what a Sydney IP changes and what it won't
Websites look at your IP address, the number your connection shows them, to guess roughly where you are. A Sydney proxy sends your browsing through a connection in the city, so local sites and search engines tend to treat you as someone in Sydney. That's handy for checking what's on before a harbour holiday, or for seeing how a small business appears in Sydney searches.
What you'll notice
Searches like 'beaches nearby' or 'fish and chips near me' tend to bring up Bondi, Manly and harbourside spots instead of places near you. Weather and news sites may open on NSW pages, and adverts lean towards Sydney shops and events. Your language settings stay as they were.
Set it up in three steps
Choose Australia, then Sydney, in the proxy's location options. Copy the connection details from your dashboard into a proxy extension or your browser's network settings. Finish by loading an IP-lookup site: Sydney or New South Wales on screen means it's working.
What it can't do
NSW rebates and vouchers run through Service NSW, which checks your identity and address, so a Sydney IP won't make you eligible. Shops still deliver only where they normally would. Don't count on a Sydney IP to lower the price of Opera House seats or harbour cruises either.

Good to know first
- Types. Résidentiel et mobile IPs come from home broadband and phone networks; datacenter IPs come from servers. Residential, explained →
- Connections. Every type works over HTTP, HTTPS and SOCKS5. What those are →
- Sessions. A sticky session keeps one IP for a while, which suits logins. A rotating one changes it on every request, which suits long lists of public pages. Which do I need? → Static proxies →
- Limits. Only your IP changes, not your language settings, your clock or who you are when signed in.
- The rules. Stay within the law that applies to you and each site's terms of service. Acceptable use policy →
