New to proxies? Amsterdam explained, from King's Day to the gemeente
Your internet connection has an address, the IP, and websites use it to guess where you are. An Amsterdam proxy borrows one in the Dutch capital, so the city's events, papers and shops show up first, often in Dutch with an English option. It's useful before a visit, and for small sellers who want to see their listings as Amsterdammers do.
King's Day plans
On King's Day in late April, Amsterdam becomes one huge street market and party, with second-hand stalls on pavements and music on squares and boats. Searching from an Amsterdam IP surfaces local guides to the markets and street parties, and the city's own pages explain the rules for sellers.
Two ways to log in
Pick Amsterdam as the city at checkout, if it's listed for your proxy type. Log in with the username and password you're given, or use IP whitelisting, which registers your own IP address instead. Then search 'bitterballen', the fried café snack, and nearby Amsterdam cafés should appear.
Things that work the same from anywhere
Anne Frank House tickets are sold only online, for set time slots, and released weekly; an Amsterdam IP doesn't get you earlier access. Trams and buses take contactless bank cards through OVpay, so you can tap in without buying a local card or using a proxy.

Local broadband and mobile networks
Which type should I pick?
You buy data by the gigabyte (GB). Unsure? Residential covers most local checks.
Residential Premium
Selected residential IPs. For stricter sites.
Quick start in three steps
- 1 Buy a little data first
- 2 Choose the location
- 3 Connect, then test it
First time? The setup guide walks through each step, and our IP checker shows when it's working.
Good to know first
- Types. Residential and mobile IPs come from home broadband and phone networks; datacenter IPs come from servers. Residential, explained →
- Connections. Every type works over HTTP, HTTPS and SOCKS5. What those are →
- Sessions. A sticky session keeps one IP for a while, which suits logins. A rotating one changes it on every request, which suits long lists of public pages. Which do I need? → Static proxies →
- Limits. Only your IP changes, not your language settings, your clock or who you are when signed in.
- The rules. Stay within the law that applies to you and each site's terms of service. Acceptable use policy →
