DBA bargains, รฆ, รธ and รฅ, and the pakkeshop: Danish IP basics

Danish online life runs on a few local names: DBA for second-hand, PriceRunner.dk for comparing prices and MitID for logging in. An IP address is the number that tells a site roughly where a visitor is, and a Danish one lets you browse the first two the way a shopper in Copenhagen does. MitID is a different story, as the last point explains.

Compare Danish shop prices

Elgiganten and Power both sell electronics in Denmark, and through a Danish IP you see their prices in kroner and the delivery choices offered to Danish addresses, which shows whether a deal is open to you at all.

Browse DBA for second-hand finds

DBA is a Danish site for buying and selling used things, from bikes to sofas. Cycling is part of daily life for many people in Copenhagen, so it's a good place to see what a second-hand bike goes for, viewed the way locals see the listings.

ร†, รธ and รฅ

Danish has three letters English lacks, รฆ, รธ and รฅ, and they come after z in the Danish alphabet, so don't be surprised to find them at the end of sorted lists. Bigger Danish sites sometimes offer English. Clocks run one hour ahead of the UK all year round.

Rules don't change with your IP

Danes log in to banks and public services with MitID, which is normally tied to a Danish CPR number (the personal ID number), and nothing about an IP address changes that. The same goes for each shop's and app's terms, which you follow as usual.

The basics, in plain English

Websites read your IP address, your connection's number online, to work out where you are. A proxy lends you one of ours from the country you pick; your language settings, clock, card and delivery address stay as they are, and sites you sign in to still know it's you.

  1. Choose a type and a small package below.
  2. Copy your login details from the dashboard into your browser, phone or app. HTTP, HTTPS and SOCKS5 all work.
  3. Open our My IP tool to check the location websites now see.

Denmark proxies: first-timer questions

No. Both belong to the Kingdom of Denmark, but they have their own website endings (.gl and .fo), their own networks and, for most purposes, their own sites. A Danish IP shows you what someone in Denmark sees, which is often different from what people in Nuuk or Tรณrshavn get.
It's a parcel pickup counter, usually inside a supermarket, kiosk or petrol station, where Danish webshops can send your order for you to collect. You choose one at checkout, and it has to be in Denmark, so a Danish IP lets you see the options but won't get a parcel to you abroad.
Start small: packages begin at 1 GB, and each order lasts 30 days, used or not. Text pages use far less data than video or downloads.
Tell us within 24 hours of delivery. We'll swap it for one that works or, if we can't, refund that part of the order. Used data can't be refunded.
