Stockholm proxies, made simple
Stockholm, Sweden's capital, is spread across islands. Swedish sites quote kronor, not euros, and the city shares Central European Time with Berlin and Paris.

Stockholm on a local IP: housing queues, fika searches and the congestion charge
Stockholm websites look a little different from inside Sweden: local news first, prices in kronor and city services in Swedish. A Stockholm proxy, a computer in the city that relays your connection, gives you a Swedish IP address so you can see them that way. People use it before a move or an exchange semester, to plan a trip, or to check how a small online shop looks to Stockholm customers.
Local news
Dagens Nyheter and Svenska Dagbladet are both published in Stockholm and report on the capital as well as the rest of Sweden. With a Stockholm IP, news apps and search results are more likely to show city stories, from SL disruptions to what's happening in your area.
A fika search to test it
Once the proxy is set up in your browser, search for 'fika', the Swedish coffee-and-cake break. Cafés in Södermalm or Vasastan among the results show the connection is going through Stockholm and not your home town.
The congestion charge
Stockholm charges a congestion tax on vehicles passing control points around the inner city, read automatically from number plates, and foreign-registered cars are no longer exempt. Your IP plays no part in it: the bill follows the car, not the driver's browser.

Local broadband and mobile networks
Which type should I pick?
You buy data by the gigabyte (GB). Unsure? Residential covers most local checks.
Residential Premium
Selected residential IPs. For stricter sites.
Quick start in three steps
- 1 Buy a little data first
- 2 Choose the location
- 3 Connect, then test it
First time? The setup guide walks through each step, and our IP checker shows when it's working.
Good to know first
- Types. Residential and mobile IPs come from home broadband and phone networks; datacenter IPs come from servers. Residential, explained →
- Connections. Every type works over HTTP, HTTPS and SOCKS5. What those are →
- Sessions. A sticky session keeps one IP for a while, which suits logins. A rotating one changes it on every request, which suits long lists of public pages. Which do I need? → Static proxies →
- Limits. Only your IP changes, not your language settings, your clock or who you are when signed in.
- The rules. Stay within the law that applies to you and each site's terms of service. Acceptable use policy →
