Shenzhen proxies, made simple
Shenzhen, just across the border from Hong Kong, is a centre of electronics manufacturing. Chinese shopping sites show prices in yuan and text in simplified characters.

Shenzhen or Hong Kong? Choosing the right IP for day trips and mainland pages
Shenzhen and Hong Kong sit side by side, but online they behave like two different places. A Shenzhen IP address, the number websites use to guess your location, shows mainland Chinese pages with yuan prices, Simplified characters and local listings from Chinese apps. A Hong Kong IP shows Hong Kong's open internet and Hong Kong dollars. Mixing them up is an easy beginner slip.
Theme parks and green spaces
Window of the World, with its miniature landmarks, the Happy Valley theme park and the waterfront paths of Shenzhen Bay Park show up with Shenzhen opening hours, events and yuan prices when sites see a Shenzhen address. That helps when planning a family day across the border.
What it won't do
A Shenzhen IP won't get you through the Luohu or Futian checkpoints: crossing still needs the right visa or permit, checked in person. It also won't make Shenzhen sites accept a foreign phone number where they ask for a mainland one.
Getting set up
Select Shenzhen under China in your dashboard, then copy the proxy address, port and login into your browser. Load an IP-check page: Shenzhen or Guangdong, the province it belongs to, means you're connected; Hong Kong means you picked the wrong location.

Quick start in three steps
- 1 Buy a little data first
- 2 Choose the location
- 3 Connect, then test it
First time? The setup guide walks through each step, and our IP checker shows when it's working.
Good to know first
- Types. Residential and mobile IPs come from home broadband and phone networks; datacenter IPs come from servers. Residential, explained →
- Connections. Every type works over HTTP, HTTPS and SOCKS5. What those are →
- Sessions. A sticky session keeps one IP for a while, which suits logins. A rotating one changes it on every request, which suits long lists of public pages. Which do I need? → Static proxies →
- Limits. Only your IP changes, not your language settings, your clock or who you are when signed in.
- The rules. Stay within the law that applies to you and each site's terms of service. Acceptable use policy →
