Is it Czechia or the Czech Republic, and what will a Czech IP show you?
Czech prices are in koruna, the Czech crown, since the country hasn't switched to the euro, and Czech letters come with small hooks and accents. Every device online has an IP address, and sites read it to guess where you are; a Czech one shows you Czech shops and comparison sites the way people in Czechia see them.
Compare prices like a local
Heureka.cz and Zboží.cz are Czech price comparison sites, and Alza.cz is a big online shop. With a Czech IP you see their prices in koruna (Kč) and the delivery options, handy for seeing whether a gadget costs less there than at home, before checking if the shop ships to you.
Czech site or Slovak site?
Alza and Heureka also run Slovak sites ending in .sk, priced in euros, because Slovakia uses the euro while Czechia keeps the koruna. A Czech IP together with the .cz address shows you the Czech version, with prices in Kč.
Háčeks and Czech time
Czech marks some letters with a small hook called a háček, as in č, ř and ž, and ř stands for a sound few other languages have. Czechia keeps Central European Time, like neighbouring Germany and Austria.
What a Czech IP doesn't do
Czech government services sign people in with a Czech electronic ID card or a Czech bank's identity service, neither of which an IP address can stand in for. Alza's terms, and every other shop's, still apply to you wherever you connect from.
Simple first projects in the Czech Republic
Whatever you use it for, the law where you live and each website's terms still apply, and our acceptable use policy lists what we never allow.
The basics, in plain English
Websites read your IP address, your connection's number online, to work out where you are. A proxy lends you one of ours from the country you pick; your language settings, clock, card and delivery address stay as they are, and sites you sign in to still know it's you.
