Suomi or svenska, 'sis. alv' and Tori: what a Finnish IP is good for

Finland uses the euro, runs an hour ahead of Sweden and has websites in both Finnish and Swedish. A Finnish IP address means websites believe you are connecting from Finland, so you usually see the Finnish versions of shops and services, including the delivery options offered to Finnish addresses.

Shop around Finnish stores

Verkkokauppa.com (the name simply means 'web shop') and Gigantti sell electronics in euros, and Tori is a Finnish site for second-hand ads. Through a Finnish IP you see their prices as a shopper in Helsinki or Tampere would.

Test something you built

Made a game, app or website for people in Finland? Load it through a Finnish IP and check that visitors get Finnish by default, that a Swedish version appears if you offer one, and that dates come out day.month.year with no leading zeros.

Two languages and an earlier clock

Finnish and Swedish are both official languages, and Finnish looks nothing like Swedish, so a translate button helps. Finland is two hours ahead of the UK, which matters when a shop's opening hours or a sale's start time are given in Finnish time.

Banking, Kela and shop terms

A Finnish IP changes what you see, not who you are: anything that needs a Finnish personal identity code, such as online banking or Kela (social security) services, stays closed. Tori and Finnish shops publish terms of their own, worth reading before you register or pay.

Whatever you use it for, the law where you live and each website's terms still apply, and our acceptable use policy lists what we never allow.

The basics, in plain English

Websites read your IP address, your connection's number online, to work out where you are. A proxy lends you one of ours from the country you pick; your language settings, clock, card and delivery address stay as they are, and sites you sign in to still know it's you.

  1. Choose a type and a small package below.
  2. Copy your login details from the dashboard into your browser, phone or app. HTTP, HTTPS and SOCKS5 all work.
  3. Open our My IP tool to check the location websites now see.

Finland proxies: first-timer questions

Because Finland has two national languages. Suomi means Finnish and svenska means Swedish, and many public services and some shops offer both. Pick the one you read best, or English if the site has it; your Finnish IP stays the same whichever language you choose.
It's short for sisältää arvonlisäveron, which means the price includes VAT. Prices for ordinary shoppers in Finland include it, so the number you see is what you pay before delivery. Shops aimed at businesses sometimes show prices without VAT instead, marked 'veroton', so check which kind you're looking at.
Start small: packages begin at 1 GB, and each order lasts 30 days, used or not. Text pages use far less data than video or downloads.
Tell us within 24 hours of delivery. We'll swap it for one that works or, if we can't, refund that part of the order. Used data can't be refunded.
