Lira prices, court-ordered blocks and Steam pricing: Turkish IPs for first-timers
Turkish prices put a comma before the kuruş, the lira's cents, and Turkish courts sometimes block whole platforms, so the local web holds a few surprises. Borrow a Turkish IP address, the number that hints at where you connect from, and sites show their Turkey version, with Turkish text, lira prices and local deals, handy for comparing prices, checking your own listing or planning a trip.
Handy reasons to use one
Comparing prices on Akakçe before a trip, checking that one of your listings shows up correctly on a Turkish marketplace, or browsing Sahibinden car and flat adverts the way a local buyer would.
Game regions
Riot Games runs a Turkey region for League of Legends, but your account's region is fixed when you create it, and an IP address doesn't move it. Any region change follows Riot's own transfer rules, which a proxy can't touch.
Turkish letters, Turkish time
Turkish uses the Latin alphabet plus letters such as ç, ğ, ı, ş and ü, so pages translate easily in your browser. Turkey has stayed on UTC+3 since 2016, summer and winter alike, which makes sale start times simple to work out.
Court-ordered blocks
Turkish courts sometimes block whole platforms, as happened to Discord in 2024, and a Turkish IP sees those blocks like everyone else there. Store-region rules, and every other term a site sets, stay exactly as they were when you connect through a proxy.
Simple first projects in Turkey
Whatever you use it for, the law where you live and each website's terms still apply, and our acceptable use policy lists what we never allow.
The basics, in plain English
Websites read your IP address, your connection's number online, to work out where you are. A proxy lends you one of ours from the country you pick; your language settings, clock, card and delivery address stay as they are, and sites you sign in to still know it's you.
