Indonesian is written in the Latin alphabet, which makes Blibli or Tokopedia pages easy to run through your browser's translate button. An Indonesian proxy lends you an internet address in Indonesia, and sites respond as they would to someone there: rupiah prices, local news as Indonesians get it and your own online shop seen from a local point of view.
Planning a trip to Bali?
Travel sites such as Traveloka and tiket.com may show different deals and currencies depending on where you appear to browse from. An Indonesian IP usually brings up the rupiah version. Booking still depends on your card and the site's own rules.
One country, three time zones
Indonesian shops and ticket sites often quote Jakarta time, written WIB, which is UTC+7. Bali is an hour ahead on WITA and Papua two hours ahead on WIT, so a flash sale at noon WIB starts at one in the afternoon in Bali.
Why a page might not load
Indonesian networks block some websites on government instruction; in 2022, PayPal, Steam and several game services were cut off for a time over a registration rule. So a site that opens fine at home can refuse to load through an Indonesian address. That is local filtering, not a broken proxy.
Looking is fine; local rules stay
Tokopedia, Shopee and other Indonesian platforms keep their own rules for accounts, payment and delivery, and checkout options such as bank virtual accounts or paying at an Indomaret counter assume you are in the country. Use the proxy to look and compare, and check the law where you live too.
