What a Thai IP shows you, from island ferry fares to baht prices
Travellers comparing island ferry prices, small sellers checking their Shopee listings and app makers testing Thai screens share one need: seeing Thailand's internet as people there do. A Thai proxy passes your browsing through an address in Thailand, so websites show their Thai pages and baht prices.
Reading Thai pages and dates
Thai uses its own alphabet, and words run together without spaces, so browser translation helps a lot. Dates can look strange too: Thailand often counts years in the Buddhist Era, which runs centuries ahead, so a receipt may seem to be from the future.
Bangkok time
Thailand runs on UTC+7 all year with no clock changes, so it is seven hours ahead of London in winter and six in summer. Handy when a flash sale or a ticket release is announced for a Bangkok time.
What a Thai IP won't change
A Thai IP doesn't change what Lazada, Shopee or any Thai site allows. Sign-ups that need a Thai phone number still need one, delivery is still limited to where the shop ships, and the law where you live continues to apply.
Simple first projects in Thailand
Whatever you use it for, the law where you live and each website's terms still apply, and our acceptable use policy lists what we never allow.
The basics, in plain English
Websites read your IP address, your connection's number online, to work out where you are. A proxy lends you one of ours from the country you pick; your language settings, clock, card and delivery address stay as they are, and sites you sign in to still know it's you.
