Dirham price tags, Tifinagh script and the summer trip home: Moroccan sites from abroad

Lots of people with family in Morocco live in France, Spain, Belgium or the Netherlands. A Moroccan proxy lets them, or anyone else, open Moroccan websites as a visitor in Morocco would: dirham prices, local adverts, Moroccan search results. It's a way of looking, so delivery, payment and each site's rules don't change.

Handy uses

Three examples: a family in Lyon checks Avito for flat prices before the summer visit; a student compares Electroplanet laptop prices with French shops; a small business tests its booking page for customers in Casablanca.

French, Arabic and Darija

Many Moroccan shopping and travel sites open in French, with Arabic versions alongside. Arabic and Amazigh are the official languages, and people speak Darija, Moroccan Arabic, day to day. Your browser can translate French or Arabic pages, though Darija in comments and adverts can confuse translators.

Moroccan time, with a twist

Morocco is normally one hour ahead of UTC, the same as Paris in winter. During Ramadan, though, clocks go back an hour, so for about a month Morocco matches UTC. The weekend is Saturday and Sunday, unlike Egypt and Saudi Arabia, where it falls on Friday and Saturday.

Where a proxy stops helping

Many Avito deals still end with a meeting in person in Morocco, and hotels still ask for your passport at check-in. Each website's own rules keep applying, whatever address your connection shows.

Whatever you use it for, the law where you live and each website's terms still apply, and our acceptable use policy lists what we never allow.

The basics, in plain English

Websites read your IP address, your connection's number online, to work out where you are. A proxy lends you one of ours from the country you pick; your language settings, clock, card and delivery address stay as they are, and sites you sign in to still know it's you.

  1. Choose a type and a small package below.
  2. Copy your login details from the dashboard into your browser, phone or app. HTTP, HTTPS and SOCKS5 all work.
  3. Open our My IP tool to check the location websites now see.

Morocco proxies: first-timer questions

DH is the usual short form of the dirham, Morocco's currency. TTC, toutes taxes comprises, means the price already includes TVA, the French name for VAT, while HT, hors taxes, means tax will be added on top. HT prices appear mostly on sites selling to businesses, so compare TTC with TTC.
That's probably Tifinagh, the script used to write Amazigh, which became an official language alongside Arabic in 2011. You'll mostly see it on government sites and public signs, rarely in shops. Not every translation tool reads it yet, so switch the page to French or Arabic if you can.
Start small: packages begin at 1 GB, and each order lasts 30 days, used or not. Text pages use far less data than video or downloads.
Tell us within 24 hours of delivery. We'll swap it for one that works or, if we can't, refund that part of the order. Used data can't be refunded.
