Proxy for Alien Worlds: a beginner's guide

A proxy changes the address Alien Worlds' website sees, and very little else. When that's worth paying for, and why it won't make mining pay more.

Alien Worlds explained for beginners: wallets, the one-miner rule and proxies

In plain English, Alien Worlds is a browser game where you mine a crypto token called Trilium (TLM) using NFT tools, signing in with a WAX wallet such as the WAX Cloud Wallet. All a proxy alters is the internet address the game's website sees. It doesn't protect your wallet, and the rules leave little room for using one: the game is for adults, one person may mine with one account, and bots are banned.

Your wallet is what needs protecting

Set up two-factor authentication on your WAX Cloud Wallet, as Alien Worlds' own guide recommends, and never type a password or private key into a site you reached through a chat link. A proxy does nothing for wallet security; careful sign-ins do.

Where a proxy would go

Because the game runs in a web page, a proxy would go in your browser's settings, ideally in a second browser so your wallet tabs stay on your normal connection. Free proxies are run by strangers, so never send a wallet sign-in through one.

Picking a type, if any

Most players don't need one. For simply reading game pages and market data from a different address, datacenter, the budget type run from server farms, is enough. Residential, meaning household connections, is pricier per GB and adds little for one player's browsing.

What gets accounts blocked

Running several mining accounts, using bots or auto-miners, and letting someone else into your account without Dacoco's written consent all break the Terms of Use. Dacoco, the company behind the game, can also block the IP addresses of users it believes broke them.

Quick start in three steps

Nothing to install. This is the whole route, from paying to the first page you load through the proxy.

1

Buy a small Residential plan

Choose a small bundle, or just the GB (gigabytes of data) you need, and pay. Then, under My Plans → Proxy Configuration in your dashboard, set the country, the protocol, and sticky (one address that stays put) or rotating (a new one each time).

2

Add it to one browser

Use the proxy in one browser for the game's website, forums or shop. The game and its launcher can keep their normal connection, which is usually quicker.

3

Check that it worked

With the proxy switched on, open our IP checker: it should show the proxy's address, not your own. The IP location lookup then tells you which country that address is in, and if anything looks wrong, the quick fixes further down cover the usual slips. About to log in somewhere? Switch to a sticky session first, so the address stays put.

Our pick for Alien Worlds: Residential

This page lists residential: addresses from home broadband providers, which the blockchain web services behind the game rarely treat with suspicion. That's the case for paying a little more per GB. Plenty of players need no proxy at all, though, and if you only want to read game pages from another address, datacenter is cheaper and usually enough.

✓

Real-player residential IPs

Residential means the address comes from a home internet provider, the kind of line many players connect from. That's all it changes. Your WAX account name and every transaction it signs are public on the blockchain, so anyone can look up your mining history, proxy or not.

✓

Fewer rate-limit knocks

A rate limit is a cap on how many requests one address can send in a short time. Playing by hand rarely comes close. If you keep hitting one, something is refreshing too often, perhaps a script or a forgotten tab, and the fix is to slow it down rather than spread the load over more addresses.

✓

Regional reach for the dApp

A dApp, short for decentralised app, is a website that talks to a blockchain for you, and Alien Worlds is one. If you use a proxy with it, pick a country near you: every proxy adds a stop on the way, and a nearby one keeps pages loading quickly.

✓

Sticky or rotating, your call

Your dashboard offers two modes. Sticky holds one address for a stretch of time, which is right while you're signed in and playing. Rotating swaps the address on every request; it only makes sense for looking up lots of public blockchain pages, and most players never need it.

What a proxy won't do here

It won't lower your ping, the delay between you and the game server. And it won't make bots, extra accounts or account sharing acceptable to a game that forbids them.

What people use it for

  • ▸Looking up public WAX transactions
  • ▸A steady connection while you mine
  • ▸Reading game pages on public Wi-Fi
  • ▸Keeping your home IP address to yourself

Which proxy type should I pick for Alien Worlds?

Residential is the sensible starting point here. Datacenter costs less when a site accepts server addresses; mobile and premium earn their higher price only in the cases described below.

Type Choose it when… From, per GB
Datacenter Cost matters most and the site is happy with addresses from server companies. Good for public pages and first experiments. $2.49
Residential Our pick for Alien Worlds A site turns server addresses away, or you want to see it the way a local visitor does. The address belongs to a home broadband line. $3.98
Mobile 4G/5G The service is built around phones, or you want to see it as someone on 4G or 5G would. The address comes from a phone network. $4.98
Residential Premium Standard residential keeps being refused on one particular site. Hand-picked home addresses, at a higher price per GB. $6.99

Choosing a country: Pick one near you, or near the game's servers if you know where they are. A longer route adds delay. There are 55+ countries, and in major markets some types let you pick a city too. Browse locations

For the longer version, our proxy comparison walks through all four types.

What you need for game websites and shops

Wherever you set it up, you type in the same four details from your dashboard: the host (the proxy's address), the port (a number that tells the connection which door to use), a username and a password.

Usual place for this

In one browser

Firefox has its own proxy settings, so only Firefox uses the proxy. On Windows and Mac, Chrome and Edge follow the computer's settings instead.

Step-by-step: Chrome · Firefox · Edge

Inside an app, tool or script: Python · cURL

Two ways to log in to the proxy

  • ▸Username and password. The host:port:user:pass details that browsers, apps and scripts ask for.
  • ▸IP whitelist. Add your own IP address to the list in your dashboard and connections from it need no password. Handy where there's nowhere to type one, such as Android's Wi-Fi proxy screen.

Which protocol?

A protocol is the language your device uses to talk to the proxy. Every proxy works over HTTP, HTTPS and SOCKS5; if an app asks for SOCKS5 by name, give it SOCKS5 details, and put HTTP details in an HTTP box.

Common slip-ups, and the quick fix for each

When something feels off on a first try, it's often one of these.

Logging in on a rotating address

Rotating means a new address for every request; sticky means one address kept for 1-30 minutes. Use sticky for anything you sign in to, or the site may log you out halfway through.

A slip in the proxy details

One wrong character in the host, port, username or password and nothing connects. Copy them again from your dashboard and try them in our proxy checker. Using the IP whitelist? Home IP addresses change now and then, so check yours with the IP checker and update the list.

Expecting smoother matches

A proxy adds a stop on the way to the game server, so play rarely gets any smoother through one. If a match lags, switch the proxy off before trying anything else.

Pages load slowly

Home connections vary in speed. Pick a proxy country nearer to you and try again before changing anything else.

Proxy not working when it arrives? Tell us within 24 hours of delivery and we'll swap it, or refund that part of the order if we can't (see the refund policy). Support answers 24/7 through the contact page.

Is a proxy for Alien Worlds allowed?

Using a proxy is legal in most countries (a few restrict them), so the question is what you do through it: stick to public information and your own accounts, at a sensible pace, within the service's terms and the law where you live.

Games set their own rules, and many forbid bots, account sharing or selling in-game items for real money. A proxy changes your address, not those rules or what happens to an account that breaks them.

If personal data is involved, data-protection law applies as well, and no proxy can protect an account from a platform's own decisions.

Keeping the cost down

You pay for data by the GB, never for time, so set the proxy in the one browser or app that needs it and switch it off when you're done.

Start with a small order

Buy a little Residential data first, at $3.98 per GB, and try it where you need it. Top up once it works.

Use it within 30 days

Each order runs for 30 days from payment, and GB you haven't used don't carry over, so buy for the weeks ahead rather than the year.

Match the type to the site

Leave easy sites on datacenter and send only the stubborn ones through residential, mobile or premium. Mixing types keeps the bill small.

Questions beginners ask about Alien Worlds

No, and trying could cost you all of those accounts. The Terms of Use allow only one account per person for mining and ban bots, and Dacoco can block IP addresses linked to breaches. Rewards depend on your tool NFTs, the land you mine on and the planet's reward pool, not on how many addresses you use.
Switch the proxy off and reload first. If the game then works, recheck the proxy's address, port and login details. Also allow pop-ups for the game's site: actions are approved in a WAX Cloud Wallet pop-up, and a blocked pop-up can look exactly like a frozen game.
CPU is the WAX network's measure of how much processing your transactions take, and each account has an allowance. When it runs short, attempts fail until the allowance recovers. That has nothing to do with your internet connection, so switching proxies won't fix it.
No. Transactions are processed by the WAX network at its own pace, and a proxy only adds a stop between your browser and the game's website. If pages feel slow with a proxy on, try a country closer to you, or switch it off and compare.
Please don't try. Limits like that usually exist because of the law where you live, and getting round them breaks the terms you agreed to, which can put your account at risk. Check the game's own help pages to see where it's offered.
Usually your own, or one next door. A nearby country keeps pages quick, and an address that matches where you really are won't confuse the security checks on your wallet or accounts. Choose it in your dashboard before you copy the details into your browser.
